The Essential Question – Student-Developed Questions Using the Newspaper

The complexity of our world is increasing rapidly with the rise of technology. We have access to much more information than any other generation. For this reason it is important not to only ask the right questions but also to ask them in a logical sequence. Without a sequential questioning strategy, students often flounder, go off track and overlook essential information. This guide, written by Dr. Darla Shaw and published by the Newspaper in Education Institute, provides numerous activities to build critical questioning skills through newspaper and Internet usage.
