Bangor Daily News covers a huge part of Maine’s geography, spanning eight counties with a network of bureaus. With our primary office based in Bangor, we also have offices in Presque Isle, Houlton, Lincoln, Calais, Ellsworth, Belfast, Pittsfield and Dover-Foxcroft.
The reporters in these bureaus gather news in large geographic areas around them and send it electronically to the Bangor office where everything is processed and put together for the daily paper and Web site.
Staff photographers, based in Bangor, are sent all over the coverage area for breaking news, lifestyle and sports stories. In addition to what our own staff produces, BDN also has informal relationships with two neighboring newspapers, the Lewiston Sun Journal in Lewiston and the Saint John Telegraph Journal in Saint John, New Brunswick, with which we exchange news stories in order to bring you interesting and important news from those areas too.
The Associated Press provides us news from southern areas of the state. Please look at our map and the list of the towns we cover. If you have interesting news happening in your town, please contact us.
