1989), the National Council of Teachers of Math (NCTM) took assertive
steps toward preparing these students for the unpredictable future by
introducing Standards for School Mathematics to encourage teachers to
adopt effective instructional practices that make math learning more
relevant and transferable. This guide provides the teacher with
activities that meet the objectives of the Standards. Each section of
